Respite Weekends:
Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek
Located on 400 beautifully wooded acres near Wisconsin Dells, Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek provides camping experiences for hundreds of children and adults ages 7 and up with physical disabilities. Programs at Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek include: Trail Blazers, Family Camp, Day Camp, Bring-a-Buddy, and Pioneer Camp.
Our campers come from all over Wisconsin to hike, swim, learn about nature, and tackle new adventures and challenges in an accessible environment. It's an adventure these campers will remember for the rest of their lives, a time to camp in the woods and sleep under the stars. Lifelong friendships begin here, where campers of all ages are encouraged to participate in group activities and are supported by a well-trained staff.
Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek offers a traditional camping experience geared to the age, interests, and abilities of the campers. A strong emphasis is placed on meeting the needs of each camper - utilizing their abilities and capabilities to enable participation in our programs and activities to their fullest potential. Many campers feel more independent as a result of the experience and enjoy the social aspect of being with other people with disabilities.
Wisconsin Elks/Easter Seals Respite Camp
If your loved one has mild to severe physical or cognitive disabilities, or has multiple disabilities, and requires more individual attention, consider our Respite Camp.
Campers are matched one-on-one with trained counselors in order to provide the best possible care. Medical care is provided by our nurse, who is on site 24 hours a day. Campers are encouraged to bring their non-disabled siblings, under the age of 18, with them during winter sessions.
Respite sessions are held at the Wisconsin Elks/Easter Seals Respite Center located on 400 wooded acres in Wisconsin Dells. The grounds consist of the main respite center, sleeping cabins, lodge, multi-purpose building, program shelters and miles of accessible trails.
Activities are planned to meet the leisure needs of respite campers. Each session has a variety of fun activities, such as swimming, arts and crafts, campfires, trail rides, storytelling, nature hikes, singing, sports and campouts.
